I want to fix aquapanel to wooden battens and run cold feed to shower behind panels.Do I need to buy Aquapanel ceramic screws or can I use a cheaper alternative? Is it worth varnishing battens in case of moisture ingress?
The advantage of the screws recommended by Knauf is that they're self-drilling, and form a very neat hole without wrecking the surface of the cement board.
However, you can get non-ceramic screws that achieve this - just ask at a drywalling supplier.
