Hi all
I've ripped out my fireplace and fire back in my 1930s house and got the the constructional hearth as I plan on having a log burner installed at some point
Unfortunately I've come abit stuck, as you can see I've got the constructional hearth. Then behind that I have the inner leaf of wall with the dpc on top. Then I have the cavity that goes down straight into the underfloor void!
Does anyone no the best method to bridge the gap and screed so I can get it to the same level as the original timber floor?
I was thinking of bridging the gap behind the hearth with slate roof tiles but I'm not sure how to screed without bridging the dpc that runs through the chimney breast that currently sits slightly highter than the original hearth atm
Would anyone be able to point me in some direction please
Thanks
