Hi
We have just moved into A new flat. It has a combi boiler which i'm not use to.

Problem we have a mixer tap shower. the hot over powers the cold which means if you turn the hot on then the cold on full it's still to hot. If you turn down the hot tap the boiler switches it's self off.

Is this a fault or is this a draw back of a combi boiler.

Please advise

Thanks

Dan

Is the cold water on the mains or from a tank somewhere, like in the flat or on the roof?
If you can stop the bath cold with your thumb it's low pressure.

Yes i tried turn temp down on front of boiler. The cold is high pressure you can't stop it with your finger. might just by an electric shower!!!!!!

So boiler might need looking @???

If it's a standard bath/shower mixer Dan, then yes you could well have these problems. You can get a thermosatatic type bath/shower mixer. This would 'balance' the water better & be a lot safer for any kids or elderly using the shower.

It may be wise to get a time-served recommended Gas Safe RGI to check your boiler's flow rate etc. Also, changing your bath/shower mixer.
