Hi all,

I am very serious about purchasing the Biasi 32 kW (109,184 Btu’s) Combi.

What do people think about this boiler. I did a terraced house up last year and the plumber fitted a raven heat 89,000 btu. I was actually quite disappointed with how long it took to fill the bath up. Is this a common problem with combi's or will the Biasi sort this out.

Also it states that No compartment ventilation is required with the Biasi, would i be right to think that this means that you can enclose it in a cupboard.

We live in a 4 bed house.

Stil here till tommorow, Biasi, mmmm, sister in laws needed a new gas valve after 18 months, £200.00, and no I didn't fit the Biasi or repair it.

Is this an isolated issue or are Biasi really a poor quality company offering a poor quality product.

What will the hot water pressure be like when filling up the bath?

Its a simple case of getting what you pay for. So long as the pressure and volume of your incoming main is up to scratch then you can get dhw flow rates from as low as 9lpm and up to 15 on a standard combi. Go for a storage combi and you can look at 20. If price is the issue then look at the Glowworm 35 for example- 14 lpm for not much over £500. Bear in mind that you may have to beef up the gas supply.

I believe Biasi's are pretty average. Better than some certainly. You may know that Ideal sell the smaller models (24 and 28kW) with their name on them. Quite small, diagnostics are quite good, OK to work on. Pretty standard Italian stuff. On a par with Potterton/Baxi, Ariston, Alpha and others, though individual models vary.

Watch the side clearances - 50mm on the right of the smaller ones.

I imagine you are drawn to the Biasi on price.

Struggling to find another reason.

Simon
