The central heating was not used for three days while away - (boiler was still on.)
On return the main light was flashing rapidly, CH would not come on, but DHW was fine. The boiler was trying to start but would not, it kept trying to do this. After running the hot tap for a minute the boiler reset its self and CH came on fine.

The following morning the same problem occurred again.

I ran the diagnostic mode and and its suggests the CH temperature probe. It has also shown Lack of burner ignition code when the boiler is alight???

Both myself and the engineer are confused. Any help would be most welcome

The diagnostics are usually fairly trustworthy for the NTC resistances.
They are easy to measure too.

As they cost less than £20 they are a cheap and easy part to change first but it sounds as if there may be a second fault as well.

I had to change an NTC on a Biasi in Atherstone last Wednesday!

If it has shown a failure to ignite code, then that could be more involved and would usually need a competent CORGI to investigate. It could be something as simple as a wrongly adjusted gas valve though.

As the fellow you have had does not seem very competent, you might want to call the company, even on a saturday morning before 12, and ask for their local service engineer's details. They have changed their telephone number since your boiler was sold and its now 0121 506 1350.
