Biasi garda plus he 32 boiler problems

My biasi garda plus he 32 has started to blow the service fuses and loses all power. I phoned the engineer who serviced the boiler 7 months ago and was told that it sounds like an electrical fault and to call out an electrician. I have had an electrician check the wiring to the boiler and it all seems ok. So we came to the conclusion that the most likely fault would be the PCB. I replaced the PCB and the boiler has been ok for a week or so but has blown the fuses again. What would be the most likely cause of this fault.

Did you check for correct combustion and safe operation of the boiler after replacing the PCB, or did you just throw a new board at it and hope for the best?

It's quite likely to be another component inside the boiler causing the problem, which will require proper electrical diagnosis from someone who is familiar with the boiler, and who is Gas Safe Registered as they'll need to access the sealed combustion chamber of the boiler to carry out the tests. You should also be prepared to buy another PCB, as it's quite likely that whichever component was causing fuses to be blown in the first place has now cooked your replacement PCB.

@Agile is very familiar with Biasi boilers and may have something to add here... if you happen to live near him (London) then he might even be persuaded to come and sort it for you, although you'll have to part with some £ of course!

I am disappointed that your servicing engineer is unable to deal with electrical faults on boilers. But then perhaps that's why he probably only services and installs boilers.

As Andrew says, you need a proper boiler engineer who can diagnose faults on boilers.

Its an expensive activity throwing parts at a boiler when the fault has not been correctly diagnosed.

It sounds as if your boiler is an M110-32 which are very good and reliable boilers but like all appliances should be regularly serviced and then will give very good service.

But like anything electromechanical, faults will occasionally occur, although rather less often on that model than most other makes.

Thanks for both of the replies. You are both correct I am going to have bite the bullet and get an engineer in to check it properly. My reason for the post was to see if there was a common fault or a part that is most likely to fail and cause my problem as I could be told anything again. The boiler was serviced when we moved into the house 7 months ago and I was told rightly or wrongly that the PCB pre set from the factory.

Anything in a boiler can fail.

All you need is a competent boiler engineer who can diagnose faults on boilers.

I don't know what you mean by saying you thought the PCB is preset.

When a PCB is replaced all the settings and the combustion parameters need to be checked.
