I am thinking about putting a tri-fold door in. I see no one mentions to tie the cavity leafs together. The hole is to be 2400x2100 . Do you have to do this?

What do you mean exactly?
The cavity walls will already have ties. Or, do you mean cavity closers at the jambs? The cavity lintel you install will also act as a sort of tie at the top.

I mean cavity closer at the jambs. I know that there are ties in the walls, but it doesn't look right to me. What happens if the ties are dodgy?
