Posted here previously regards this problem......
My car would only start intermittently a few months back. Took around 10 to 30 turns of the key before it would start. It always happened when engine cold (ie 1st thing in the morning). This happened for a couple of months. All ignition lights came on, and radio started, all headlights good and strong, so not the battery. Checked everything, else, earth strap fine, TDC sensor cleaned and fine (doubt this is the cause anyway). All electrical connections seem ok too.
The Solonoid connection is good too. I actually thought this may have been the issue, so a mechanic changed the spade connector to the solonoid and the car has been working fine....up until now. The same problem is back ! (so it wasnt the soloniod connection!!)
The crazy thing is, the car started working fine again prior to me taking the car to the garage a few weeks ago, so the mechanic had little to go on (hence he only changed the soloniod connector, thinking it may have been the cause). I thought this may have solved the problem, but sadly not!
Does anyone have any more clues? Im thinking new starter motor now?? (or a recon.)
Cheers
