The problem I would like to pick your brains over is the toilet, at some point my son will be getting a new bathroom, but this will not be until next year. So its a case of making the most of whats there. For what it costs, would have been simpler to replace the toilet had it not been for the cast iron connecting pipe. The inlet pipe to the toilet had a metal bracket rusted through and a rubber ring, making the toilet leak, it still flushed around the bowl ok, but unbeknown to us had been leaking for some time.

I replaced the metal bracket * See attached photos, with a rubber inlet cone and used vulcanised tape to seal the outside, now after doing this I find that the toilet has a very weak flush, and it is only coming out through the back of the pan, not swirling around the bowl from the top edges, my intilal thought was that something was blocked with sediment, on flushing it is just a continual flush until I move the ballcock up letting the cistern fill up. The top part of the cistern tank fills to the water level no problem, this was ajusted to give me a little more water, still the same result.

Have ordered another trap to see if this will help.

Any help or advise you could give me would be really appreciated,

You have ordered a new trap ?? As far as I can tell from your post you have replaced a flush cone ( internal type) with an external flush pipe connection ,and no longer have the same water flow when flushing the toilet.
Is that so ?
