Recently bought a 70s bungalow. Breezeblock + brick cavity walls. central heating.

Previous owner left some drawers in the spare room.
I moved back the drawers to see black mould in the corner and along the top of the skirting board, coming through the wallpaper.
Its an eternal wall corner. There is a downpipe but I haven't noticed any leaks.

Diagnosis: I reckon it is due to condensation.

Soultion: Clean off with bleach + water. Open the nearby window regularily. Apply mould treatment paint. Strip wallpaper and emulsion the whole wall, so i can see if it comes back!

Any comments?

Providing the outside are okay, then it's called condensation trap as it's a pocket of moisture which have no air flow moving it, may need to move the drawers further out to prevent it happening again or improve ventilation.
