Blanking off a tee

I need to permanently disconnect the hot pipe on the 15mm pipe shown below

First plan is to try and disconnect the tee then replace with a straight coupler but the access is very tight behind the HW cyclinder.

Would another acceptable option be to undo the fitting at the tee for the 15mm pipe and fit a 22mm blanking nut?
