Hi,

I recently changed my hot water cylinder / immersion and pump.

I have bled al the rads and the pump and it all works.

I now have to bleed the pump each day to get the boiler to heat the water or heating. The boiler will only fire up if I release the air in the pump by ventng it.

It seems that it keeps getting air in it ?

I have to bleed the pump with all the system on - there is no air released if i open the vent with the system off

Before i replaced all of the above i had the same problem and also dirty water which is why i changed it. Also the tank was also very very old ...

Any ideas please ??

Is the system filled up fully and the header tank full of water?

Which way up is the pump?

Hi,

The system is full and the header tank too.

The pump is the correct way with the arrow up.

I just bent the float so that the tank is a bit fuller as it was only a third full.

Sorry, I wasn't very clear when asking which way up it was.

In my mind I was asking if it was horizontal with the air bleed screw pointing upwards.

Hi,

The bleed screw is on the front of the pump verticle. (i.e. not lying flat)
