I'm a complete novice with radiators. Only had cental heating for 4 months. One is cold at top, but hot at bottom. I know you'll all laugh at me for asking, but how do I bleed the damn thing? I'd rather look a pratt here and get it right than incur the wrath of the missus!

I would commend you for having come to the conclusion that there is air in the radiator resulting in top being cold and hot at the botton. It is not uncommon for people to bleed the radiators to find there is NO AIR in it.

Switch heating system off

If you look at the top right and top left of the radiator, you should see a 3/4" chrome nut. One will be blank and other will have a screw with square head (approx 4mmx 4mm). Some rads will have this bleed screw same location but on the rear face of the panel. Others will have a plastic cap atop the bleed screw. Using the bleed key, loosen the bleed screw half a turn to purge air.

Having done , check boiler pressure if boiler is a sealed system. Switch boiler on and use as required
