Hi there,

I trying to install an electric motor for my roller blind but in order to do that I need to remove the safety device attached to the wall. I'm a DIY noob and am having trouble doing this so was wondering if someone could help me.

I can't seem to remove the cap which is covering the screw. I've tried using a Stanley knife but not having any luck. Could anyone give any advice on how to remove this?

Many thanks,

It could be glued in? Try a short screw into the centre and yank it?
Have you tried knocking the whole unit upwards in case it’s been slid on?

Failing that, do you need to keep it?

Thanks for the quick reply.

I think it might be glued in. I've tried knocking the unit upwards but no joy.

I'm happy to break it if that's the only option?

It's got to be a little blanking cap, I'd hazard the screw head would be a few mm beneath it so you could probably drill a hole in it to gain access to the screw.

Thanks for the tips. Used a drill to access the screw and now have my motor installed. Thanks for the advice :)
