today I was at a breakdown which was caused by a blocked filter in the gas valve. I am from N IRELAND, i THINK WE DONT HAVE ANY FILTERS ON THE PIPELINES. Can you get filters for a domestic premises. Has england got any filters. what would you advise..
Sulphidation filters, like THESE, are used in areas where the gas supply has a high concentration of hydrogen sulphide, which reacts with copper pipework to form a black film (a copper sulphide deposit) on its inner surface. Flakes from the deposit can block injectors and the bypass of oven thermostats, and cause solenoid valves to let by. The filters should be cleaned as part of a routine service.
I believe that gas from the Morecambe Bay fields is particularly high in hydrogen sulphide.
