If I haven't used silicon and maybe caulk for awhile in same container it often blocks in nozel. The rest is ok. U guys buy spare nozzles?

Several solutions. First: when you are using multiple tubes on a job, transfer the nozzle from tube to tube as you go rather than putting a fresh nozzle on every tube, leaves you with spares. Second: get some of those silicone rubber nozzle tips that keep the air out or buy silicone which comes with end caps. Third: get a few of the nozzles which can be angled, making some jobs easier - they generally come with a cap to seal them between uses. Fourth: buy a better quality caulking gun which had a "hole poker" on the side to poke through blockages - this is my Tajima, there are other makes with them:

Yep, spare nozzles or sometimes use a screw in the open end.

Screws don't always go deep enough, I find - the 'ole poker does :D

I recently purchased 100 spare nozzles for about £12 on ebay. That works out to 12 pence each. Way cheaper than trying to unblock a nozzle.

As Job'n'knock says, if I am using numerous tubes of the same product, I just take the nozzle from the now empty tube and use it on the next tube (leaving me with spare nozzles).

You can pull silicone out of the wider end of the nozzle using a very long screw. It is more difficult with caulk and MS polymers.

One of the problems I get is that GripFill and Pink Grip, etc come with the nozzle integral to the (cardboard) tube. Some caulks have a non-standard (very wide thread) nozzle, so the replacements you can generally get woin't work with them. The 'ole poker triumphs with those (y)

What's an 'ole poker'?

The poker in question is the thin tube in job'n'knock's mastic gun image.
Give that man a cokernutter! Yes, that folding bit of wire, fixed on the side of the body, is yer actual 'ole poker

BTW, how dirty do your hands get to make the trigger on your gun so messy?
Easy, I loan it to other people!

I wasn't commenting on your gun, it was directed at the OP.

I guess I must be on a "spectrum", I hate getting my tools dirty. Equally, although I am a decorator I hate getting paint on my clothes.

Walking past a customer's house a few years ago I paused for about 20 seconds once I noticed that they had got someone else to paint the exterior (they had asked me but I didn't get back to them). I walked away, about a minute later a car pulled over. A guy got out holding a walkie talkie, I twigged he was old bill. He asked why I was looking at the house. I told him the back story and explained that it was professional curiosity- and that they were my customers (I told him their names). He looked at me in disbelief. It was only when his eyes tracked down to my boots, where he could see minimal paint splattering that was willing to accept that I wasn't lying.

Many people in local pub initially refused to believe me when I walked in and told them that I had been painting all day.

I wasn't joking, either. I like to keep my tools in reasonable nick - I mean, how many other people do you know who have replaced a tool body shell because their impact driver was starting to look tatty? (sad, I know). It ticks me off that half of the people I loan stuff to don't give a tinkers cuss how it comes back (they get told to go and clean it in their own time then bring it back) - but equally I get fed up with people who don't have the kit to do the job and just expect me to supply it, although what they don't realise that I run a "three strikes and out" system, until they get to strike 3 that is. :sneaky:

In terms of cleanliness, I go into work clean as a new pin every morning - and on some jobs I actually get to morning break before I end up covered in sh1te. Ah, the joys of refurbs

Messy
When decorating I wear thin gloves. I'd like to be cleaner I guess
