I have a walk-in cupboard in my living room, this backs onto my shower room. I want to block up the cupboard doors to extend the shower room back. What ideas could I do, I was thinking of a fake door type effect

Anyone have any tips?

If you want a door effect, you could just leave the existing cupboard door in place and take the handle off!

If you don't want to confuse people who think they see a door, you might:

- Frame it out and fill in with plasterboard, decorated to match the wall

- Put shelves in the thickness of the wall and treat it as an alcove (board up on the other side

I'm thinking of fitting shelves across the existing door frame and turning the recess into a large spice and condiments rack.

Alternatively, take the door casings and frame out, and simply install studs into the rough opening, install plasterboard, mud the joints, sand them smooth, prime and paint.
