blower works but no heat Escort van 2000 55d

got an escort van W reg 55, bout 120k on the clock. when I turn the heaters on it will only blow thru cold air. If i turn the blowers off completely i can feel the slightest amount of warmth come thru.

Please can anyone advise as all the other threads i read are saying that the blowers dont work at all which doesnt help me

have checked all fuses and all seem ok

First check the engine coolant level, then warm the van up and make sure both heater hoses are getting warm, if they are it may be the cable for the heater box temp control which has come adrift. should be easy enough to see just under the dash.

coolant circulation can be a problem on these, remove both ends of the small return hose from the top of the expansion bottle to the engine area and see if you can blow through it.

You will have either a seized heater coolant control valve, a blocked heater matrix or an airlock in the coolant system that is stopping coolant flowing through the heater matrix.
