Blowing Dimmer Switches

I've always had a dimmer on a two way system but it seems like I have
to replace the dimmer every few months as it suddenly blows and will then
only switch on and off.
The switches aren't underrated and I've tried various brands with the same result, they last for a few months and then blow, any ideas what I
should be looking for to rectify this?

if you keep having to change dimmers because they blow there must be a reason.

you said you have tried different brands, and they are not under rated so it must be either a wiring fault (unlikely) or a load fault (probably)

what are you dimming?

if it is low voltage lights are they dimable transformers? and if more than one are they all dimable?
