Boiler AAV failure

Hi,
Boiler had been leaking and been finished as the auto air vent.
The boiler was serviced not that long ago… anyone know how long it might take to look like this as was wondering if it had been missed on the service…. Only asking as mother in law’s boiler and challenges over warranty cover….. thanks
