Just moved in to an old house which had a new boiler installed in 2005. Boiler is a British Gas 330 (made by Gloworm).
WHen the weather started getting colder, not all the the radiators were hot, tried various combinations of thermostat, boiler settings, thermostatic valve setting and finally ended up sorting the problem by putting the central heating pump up to setting 3 to give a greater flow of hot water to the the rads.
However, since putting the pump up to the higher setting, my boiler makes a loud bang when it switches off (i.e. reaches thermostat temp, or switches off on the timer). This doesn't happen with the pump is on the lower setting.
My main concern is whether this will damage the boiler, and whether I need to do anything to prevent this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Jason
