Boiler Cuts Out

Hello,
I have some tenants in a property and they've complained that the boiler cuts out when they have a shower. According to a plumber who was called out this is because the boiler is scaled up and I will need to call out BG or similar to powerflush it at charge of minimum £450.00. Is there any (cheaper) alternative?

why does it need a powerflush if the problem is scale ?

I dont know, I know absolutely nothing about boilers and that's why I'm reluctant to spend so much if it doesnt resolve the problem. Should I be trying to descale first? (Sorry if I sound an idiot).

descale the secondary heat exchanger first

What boiler is it? Is it a combi or is there stored hot water.

Yer, don't use BG to do it!
