We have a Worcester boiler (Greenstar Junior). It's set on eco mode but keeps firing up every now and again. It's cost 75p a day according to the smart meter? Is this a fault??
your boiler has an internal frost protection system, sensed by the primary thermistor, it is possible this is faulty and the boiler thinks it is colder than it actaully is, you would have to be infront of the boiler and watch the display when it fires without being called for, what room thermostat do you have if any ?

We had the boiler serviced and the engineer said it is the timer. If the timer is switched to off, it doesn't fire up, but when left on timer it does, periodically.
