I have a Worcester Bosch combi boiler mounted in a cupboard in an upstairs room. The flue pipe runs directly through the outside wall and on the outside has a rubber collar presumably to help seal the hole in the wall. As the wall is pebble dashed the collar does not sit completely flat and also the hole is slightly bigger than the pipe. Would it be better to seal the pipe in with some mortar or filler, or leave it as is and allow the gap to contribute to the ventilation of the cupboard. The air gap allows quite a bit of external road noise into the room, which is why I am considering sealing the gap.
