Boiler/hot water problems

Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone can help. It looks like the lever on our Drayton motorised valve is very loose and I'm wondering if this could be the reason why recently our water isn't hot. The boiler pilot light is on and the radiators are getting hot but we are only getting tepid water through the taps. We have been having a few problems with the pilot light on the boiler (Glow worm E30) - it keeps going out but now the pilot light is staying in but our hot water is gone. I'm just wondering if the two problems are related? Any advice would be brilliant!
