I'm having a loft conversion done with a bedroom and bathroom. My architect has recommended replacing my conventional boiler (Potterton Supra 50) with a new Combi system.

Problem
1. Can you have a hot & cold-water tank together in the loft (so I don't have to replace my existing boiler)?
2. I understand that a Combi will need a replacement gas pipe all the way back to the meter is this an issue in the loft bathroom?
3. Is there other problems to consider like water pressure with a Combi?

P.S. I will not be fitting it myself, if this helps.

Opening a can of worms. Either go for storage combi or preferably UV cylinder. Sealed system on an existing prone to weeping to detriment of new boiler.

Could anyone recommend a storage combi or UV cylinder? Not really sure what these are.

How many kids/bedrooms/bathrooms will you have?
Do a search on the forum for unvented, and "Megaflo". Basically it hold HW at mains pressure so you don't need a tank above.
Is the proposed combi going in the loft bathroom? Gas pipe could go down the side of the house (It don't freeze!).
Yes there are always water pressure and flow issues with combis.

I have no kids, 2.5 bedrooms + 1 bathroom. The loft will add another bedroom and bathroom. The loft staircase means I need to remove the HW tank and hence I've been recommended to have a Combi. The only space I will have is possibly in the loft.

Would you recommend a storage system or separate combi and UV cylinder?
I was proposing a combi to go in the loft bathroom.
