Hi

Ive had my expanssion vessel repressured and have now got a new issue....

The boiler seems to be fine when on, but when off it doesnt seem to loose pressure - i.e it wil start on 1.5 rise to 2.0 when hot then cool to about 1.9.
Then throughout the night it may somehow add a little bit more water to the boiler itself (filling loop removed).

I have then tried to remove some of the water in the system via the radiator and it seems in balanced as i can fill up to big cups and it will only reduce the pressure by .2 of a bar??

I have also noticed that a pipe in the bathroom also leaks throughout the night - not a puddle, but a bit of water.

any help will do

thanks in advance

Unlikely. Which boiler.

Could be about right.

Either leak or condensation.

Vailant turbomax

seems to be too much water coming out for the little amount of movement on the pressure bar?

Phrasing your questions a bit more accurately would help

ok

Do you or anyone have any idea why the pressure in my boiler does not return to the position it was at (or even close too) after it has been on for a period of time (and turned off and cooled down)?

Could be a leaking plate hex, gas development from corrosion, faulty gauge, faulty ev, faulty aav, failing (second ) filling loop, inaccurate readings, hallucinations, poltergeist.

LOL

how easy would this be for a plumber/gas engineer to identify this?

Probably quite easy for a breakdown specialist.
Faultfinding and installing/servicing are completely different exercises.

On many occasions I have found the problem in 5 minutes flat where others had given up and concluded the boiler was dead, and I am nowhere near the best amongst the resident pro's.

1st - thank you for your help

2nd - I dont want to get ripped of by a plumber, so what would you suggest i do inorder to reduce the risk of this happening?

Find a good breakdown engineer with verifiable track record.
Best way by far is to ask all your friends, relatives, neighbours, colleagues for a good guy that has repaired their boiler.

Websites, organisation memberships, checkatrade, trustmark and all that are worth nothing, unless you can verify the "testimonials".

I can put up 15 pages along the lines of: " what a great guy, signed: Mrs B in A"; don't mean shit.
