Their is occasionally a humming noise coming from the boiler as tho something is vibrating. From underneath it sounds like someone is drilling the wall with a hammer drill from the other side

I had all radiators changed downstairs. The boiler is an 18 month old condensing boiler. Once the radiators downstairs were done the problem was cured. The plumber said it may have been a faulty trv. Anyway I'd say a month after having them done the noise is happening again. Its random and with the hot weather the heating has barely been on

The other night it was quite loud so I turned the boiler off as it wasnt in use at that moment but the noise continued! I pulled the steam waste condensing pipe that goes outside to limestone chippings and the noise stopped. Could this be something to do with it?

I'm really stumped as by powering the boiler down the noise continued. If anyone could help or any plumber has any idea what it could be I'd be very grateful. Thank you

Ideal logic it is. Couldn't tell you anymore than that. I've also bled all the radiators. Pressure was 1.25bar but in the boiler manual it says pressure to be 1 bar so I reduced it to that. I just find it strange that when the boiler is off it still does it. Should I take all the trv heads off upstairs and see if that stops it?

Get a gas safe engineer to check/clean Venturi. Could also be a possible gas valve issue. Ideal logic gas valves cant be adjusted, it would need to be replaced?
Do you get it serviced annually.

The boiler is serviced every year and the plumber we use said he couldn't see any issues with the boiler. I've read it could be the condensate/condensing trap?

Do all radiators have trv’s on , if so take one off when the noise happens to see if it stops

I took them all off upstairs last night. Il see if that stops it. Its driving me insane

If your running hot water and it’s still doing the noise then it’s nothing to do with trvs. Get your plumber/gas safe engineer out to check Venturi and gas pressures
