Boiler not working

I have a greenstar HE 25 Combi boiler.

The elecrtic went off in my flat today. After checking, I found the problem was the boiler. I have chnged the fuse in the wall socket, this is fine, but whenever I switch the boiler on, it automatically switches off and knocks everything out again.

Think it might be a fuse inside the bolier but not sure.

Any ideas?

Clearly you have not thought this through if you really think a fuse could cause your supply RCD to trip.

Its likely to be the pump or a boiler component with leakage to earth.

Its probably going to need a competent boiler engineer to diagnose the fault.

Are you sure its not still under guarantee?

With the amount of rain you have had up there in last few days has the fan got soaked by water ingress

Being a condensing boiler, water coming into the outlet part would usually safely run out of the condensate drain.

As condensing flues are mostly tipped upwards it seems to have been somewhat overlooked what will happen to rain entering the INLET parts! With all this torrential rain recently there may turn out to be some design issues to be considered.

We have not had any boiler repair calls yet as a result of water ingress this year but we often got them after heavy rain in previous years.

Sounds like the boiler is knackered to me. Suggest you employ a Corgi engineer to install a Ravenheat combi - on special offer from B&Q. The whole deal should come in at under £1200 plus VAT - a snip!
