Hello,

Yesterday i started havin a problem with my boiler which is a Worcester 24CDi, It wasnt giving me any hot water so i was switching it on an off trying to get it to work but the burner light kept going off, and the whole thing made some quite loud scary noises....I got it to work by first, switching off all taps, switching off boiler, switching on boiler, switching on the shower, and it was hot...However i couldnt get it to work after that...Today i have tried bleedin the radiators, an all the upstairs ones were dead so i filled the system back up to 1bar(?) and was hopin that this would kick the b*st**d back into action..

No such luck, which i switch the boiler off an on an then the water, the burner comes on then after about 10secs theres some louds clicks followed what i can only describe as the sound of pullin a seatbelt quickly and then another click or so an then the burner goes off....When i try switching the heating on(im highly reluctant to do so in this weather) the burner just goes off after 10secs with not much noise, its definately not loud....

So, any suggestions on what this could be? is it fixable or is something broke?

Thanks for any help

Check the air vent cap on top of the boiler is loose.

Put the boiler on for CH. When it has stopped doing its best, what lights are on or flashing, slow or quick, of the power(green), ch demand, hw demand?

Sounds like an ignition fault so far, = a corgi job.

Ok, i checked the air vent, thought it might be the prob as someone put aload of wall paper on top. there is a back cap screwed on with a tiny hole in it, i loosened that abit...

I put the ch on and it worked, ch demand light and burner light, at this point i can hear a sound of like one or two drops of water...then the pilot light just fades out after bout 10secs...the heating demand and power light are on solid. there is no fan sound....Yesterday when i tried it, after about a minute they would flash fast...suggesting over heating, maybe this was just cuz i tried it alot? that doesnt seem to be happening today...

the pilot light does light up, i switched the gas off at the mains earlier and i could see the sparks trying to ignite, i dont know if this is what u mean by ignition fault...
