I went to a greenstar jnr 28i last night that was locking out.
The lady was having the house rendered, the numpty who was doing it had done a lovely job, but he'd rendered over the outer part of the flue right up to the inner bit that was sticking out a bit further.  I cleared it out and the boiler works a treat but had to tell her that she needs a new flue now that the old one is too short cos of the extra thickness of the rendering.

There are some complete nupties out there!

I suppose you could "dish" the render around the flue?

Was this some kind of heat insulating render?

Tony

I've no idea Tony, but it was over an inch thick.
I don't really like the idea of 'dishing' the render though, sounds a bit iffy.
I'd sooner put a new flue in, which she has agreed to as well.

Lucky enough, that had been left sticking straight out.
I'll take that back to the wall when I do the flue.

Never liked the i-junior series, as soon as you close the air inlet, they stop working.
