Boiler Scrapage

Hi all,

Ive been to price a job to rip out 2 Band G Boilers and re-new with 1.

Does the scrapage scheme issue 2 vouchers if you have 2 boilers that qualify?

The customer asked and I couldnt answer .

As at 16th March, 118,785 vouchers had been allocated. 35,390 boilers have been installed, based on the number of claims to date.

Interesting figures! I have dealt with one person who told me he got a voucher/quote and then had second thoughts with the original quote which he thought was too high so he's now fishing for a lower price.

Since the vouchers do have a 12 week expiry date on them, many of those 84395 will soon find they have to re-apply. My guess is a large majority just got the voucher because they thought it was £400 cash in their hand and thought they could get a new boiler installed for a few hundred quid or as one poster on here seemed to think, free of charge. At least having the expiry date should sort the wheat from the chaff.

only got the one job myself, that was actually a nice straight forward job as well, happy days!!

I just sent mine back to get my 400 quid. My boiler was installed a couple of weeks ago and I'm very happy with it.

hmm, so they seem to assume that all vouchers issued will be claimed. I doubt it. If only 50% are claimed thats saved the govmt around £200mill if my sums are right?! Still these are difficult times and we are hearing they are slashing budgets everywhere.
