I have been thinking about installing a shower for a while now. So I checked to see what kind of boiler system I have.

I live in a maisonette. Upstairs, in the airing cupboard there is a tank just above the cylinder and there is a expansion vessel next to the cylinder. I thought it was a gravity fed system at first but then I realised that I have a boiler in the kitchen that looks like a combination boiler. There is a switch box next to it, enabling me to switch on/off heating, water etc.

When I use the hot and cold water from the bathroom which is next to the airing cupboard, I can hear the noise made by the cylinder/tank.

Can something tell me what kind of system I have? I have phoned the council to find out but they have no idea.

I would appreciate any help on this matter.
