Hi from someone who has found this site has always had the answer until now.......!
I have a boiler that desperately needs a new timer switch which I've purchased (recommended on this site by one member to another in a post I read previously!). The timer states that it needs to have a fused mains input. Currently the boiler has no means of being isolated from the mains without shutting down the fuse box and pulling the main fuse which I've been advised needs to be sorted so that it can be isolated by a switch in close proximity to the boiler. Still with me?!
The timer (an old switchmaster 805) currently hanging off the wall has 3 sets of cable/flex leading into it. A main circuit cable, the flex to the boiler and the flex to the HW tank upstairs. Finally, the question I have is....
Can I just insert a fused connection switch unit into the mains cable which will solve both the problems ie: Ability to isolate the power to the boiler, and also mean that the mains power to the timer switch would be fused?
Many Thanks in advance....
