boiler tripping electric

hi there, i have a myson orion boiler,its quite old, anyway my problem is this, weve only had hot water on over the summer and its been fine, now its a bit colder weve put the heating side on as well, it seemed to be working ok, rads were getting hot, then after about 15 mins it tripped the electric, ive tried it a couple more times an it does the same thing, any ideas? thanks

Firstly check your pump. Quite often the most common part to trip the electrics.

What is tripping, the RCD or the mini circuit breaker?

If you are safe remove the connection cover on the pump and sniff and see if it smells burnt.

If not, then connect the pump to a seperate supply fused at 3 Amps and run it like that and see if that blows.

The boiler fuse should be 3 Amps! The smallest mains MCB is 6 Amps!

Methinks you may have a 13 Amp fuse in the supply to the boiler ?
