boiler vibrating

My boiler yesterday, decided to vibrate very loudly for about 15 seconds, then it stopped....a while later it done it again for about 8-10 seconds. Now this is happening constantly, every now and again for about 8-10 seconds. The whole house vibrates!!!

I called out the people who service the boiler, and he stood there and said " it looks perfectly fine to me " as it didn't do it why he was here. He said not to worry about it, and as our pressure was on 2 bar, it was probably too high...???????

as he left and walked up the street, it done it again, i opened the door and called him back, but it stopped again, his response was to ignore it--

So i never said or done anything about him ( yet ) but he is obviously wrong. as at 6am when i fired it up, it was doing it again and woke evry one up. so the boiler is off now. Can any one give me an idea what it is, as this gas service engineer seems to have no idea.

and it seems to be getting worse

after reading different forums--it seems like it could be the flue-can someone tell me what i can do to look, like take the turret off etc. i do know what im doing, as i am a plasterer myself. and its just done it as i'm typing this....

Many things can cause your boiler to be noisy and for the most part require specialist testing etc you are best advised to call a proper engineer in who will be able to fix your noise problem. No gas advice can be given on the open forum, sorry about that.

Are the pipes vibrating as well as the boiler.
It sounds more like an overheating problem which can be caused by a number of things.
Boiler stat out of sinc, sticking gas valve, pump turning off for a few seconds which can also be caused by a few things

i did call an engineer and he said its fine, which is clearly is not

. its ONLY the boiler and not the pipes, and i wasnt going to investigate the gas pipes etc, just if someone said unscrew the flue and see if there crap in it etc.....

It could be the condensate trap/sump that is blocked, if it is this will give you the very symptom that you are experiencing and it is also a popular fault on these troublesome boilers.

thanks for the info, i dont know if it helps but ive been filming it on my phone to show the knob when he comes back, and its on definately on the right hand side of the boiler

didnt the icos have a trap cut off on them to cut the boiler off if they blocked tho? I may be worng?

Sounds like a pump fault. Havent turned any valves off have you by mistake? Does sound like it over heating.

the problem is or was the black doughnut ruber where the flue meets the boiler on top. he tried sorting it out and it quietend right down and if he stuck a scredriver in it it stopped completely. coming tomorrow morning to change it fir a new one.
