I have a boiler installed in my attic, so during cold periods, the frost protection system often operates. The boiler has an electric control system. Given that there has been some talk about possible power cuts (admittedly some years hence), I am wondering whether I should have some sort of uninterruptable power supply to prevent damage to the boiler. My current thinking is that if a power cut should occur, I could use an inverter connected to my car battery and use the AC output to power the boiler (for a limited period). However, if I am asleep, I will not be aware of a power cut, and one may occur while I am away. Perhaps I am worrying over nothing, or has anyone else considered this ?
Many thanks in advance.
