If they brought back hanging I'd offer to pull the rope!

I just cannot understand the mentality of these 'people' who want to go out and cold bloodedly murder innocent people.

Guy Fawkes had the right idea, blowing up the Houses of Parliament

And we've killed how many civilians in Iraq?

I don't agree with that either BAS. I'll bet most of the service people out there would rather be somewhere else too - most join the forces for a career not to kill people.

So if they don't want to (possibly) have to kill people, why do they join?

What kind of person says to him/herself "I want this career so much that if asked to I will kill civilians in order to have it"?

Have you not seen the adverts for the forces BAS? Or been at a school's career's talk? I quite honestly cannot remember killing people ever being mentioned in one!

Its all join up for a career, travel the world etc.

Be honest, you could walk down the road and get killed by a bus - it wouldn't be on the ad's for the transport company though would it?

But being told to knock people down is not something that comes later to bus drivers...

I agree that if you join the forces you should consider that you may be called to kill but equally I know people that where shocked to be in the Falklands trying to kill and being shot at themselves and had never contemplated the realities of war but a chance of a job and getting to see the world at the same time.
When I left school I joined the navy, couldn't think of anything else at the time and it looked nice in the glossy booklet.
and now I'm a limpy do gooder and proud of it

soldiers are given a gun and trained to use it. I wonder what they think it might be used for...target practice perhaps?

Perhaps if we were to execute these nightclub bombers but allow the Iraqis to execute a few british soldiers who are guilty of killing Iraqi civilians it may put things in a new perspective?

Are you sure about that? I think the ones round here are ;)

Richard, I think most kids signing up think that way about a career in the forces. I know when my hubby's nephew was about to sign up, my hubby and his brothers (other uncles) sat him down and told him exactly what life is like in the forces & that it's nothing like it says in the glossy promotional booklets. Needless to say, he changed his mind. Not all kids have this chance though and having been to more than one of the promotional sessions I know how hard they sell a career in the forces to young kids.

Tbh, I am glad that neither of my kids wanted to follow in the family tradition of being in the forces :D

I don't agree with anything that's happened in Iraq, any more than it sounds like you do. However, it was UK and USA who put Saddam in power in the first place....

I merely said that I'd like to pull the rope on the barstewards who want to kill innocent kids on a night out. I knew a young girl who was killed by the evil swines in Sharm El Sheikh. She went on holiday with her Mum and sister a totally innocent 16 yr old. She was later airlifted home to die

Anyone who goes out and plots to kill or premeditatedly kills innocent people like those swines should swing.

I do not apologise for my views either.
