but it's true, old mother earth has barely sustained the way it's been for the last hundred years politically and now more countries are industrialisating(real word?) and needing more resources to bring them into the same lifestyle that we have taken for granted for so long, the earth is being stripped bare, as mentioned befopre in other posts we ALL need to slow down and perhaps take a step backwards in order to maintain the existence of the human race.

Be aware China once embarked will take no prisoners in the quest for dominance, why should they be different to the Japan of 50/60's? .. They do not play for the fun of a few, only to WIN ... Fairness? will not enter into the equation.

commercially we have always had chinese goods imports and i don't just mean hong kong the quality of these goods has in the past been drawn into question and therefore the market share has been kept within boundaries, unlike japan does china have natural resources or are they as japan is, held back by having to import materials in vast quantities in order to feed the manufacturing, this has been looked on by financial institutions as a timebomb waiting to go off insofar as their economy is concerned as it is not self sustaining and heavily reliable on countries like america and britain both for buying their goods and supplying resources such as steel etc.

Nah, Good old earth will take care of itself. It's us who need to be worried. Sadly nature doesn't give a stuff about us. As a question, what would you see life being like in say 200 years?

1 we let them carry on as if its none of out business= stupidity as china will become to strong

2 we dont have anything to do with them ie boycott them and force them into a recession with the cooperation of the rest of the western world = china will probably shout foul and take up arms = question 3

3 we hit them now with a pre-emtive tactial nuclear strike/gene warfare/ nerve gas / industrial espionage = most of us will suffer but china is out for good

4 we do jack-shi* = taiwan/japan will be taken over and china will become to powerful = question 3

5 we all pull together in the world and stop worshipping the car and learn to manage our resources /put more investment into alternatives to oil / stop wasting oil on holiday flights etc all extravagant and unnecesary /get on your bike.

6 AFTER the west done 5 we find china done what they do best and that is expand = 3
