Can anyone point me to a control which will ONLY give a 1 hour timed boost to the on time of heating system?

But one which will NOT allow the system to be operated for longer than the boost period.

These are useful to landlords to allow tenants to have heating on when they are at home but not leave an empty house unecessarily heated.

What do you mean by "allow tenants to have heating on"? It's up to the tenant when he has the heating on; the landlord can't dictate this as it would be interfering with the tenant's rights.

Any attempt to restrict the tenant's rights to heating would be jumped upon by the Courts as a breach of the Unfair Terms in Consumer Contracts Regulations 1999.

After all, the tenant is responsible for paying the gas bill.

Have a google for a horstmann 'electrisaver' switch. They do a 15, 30 and 60 min, and a 30, 60 and 120 min versions.
