Not really familiar with your system, however if you cannot boot from a bootable CD then you should look in the BIOS to see if your system has the option to enable booting from this device. Why and what do you want to boot from CD?

I need to install some kind of Linux (notebook to work) but I have problem with booting it. I looked to BIOS but nothing changed. CD starts for moment when I turn it on but it don't boot up.

Could you explain in more detail what you have and what you are trying to do?

1. You have a notebook system - what make and model and specification?

2. Does the notebook already have an Operating System installed e.g. Windows?

3. What exactly is the CD you are trying to boot from? I assume that it is Linux disk. I don't have any experience of Linux however I believe that while some versions are supplied on bootable CD others may require either Windows or DOS to be installed,

This link lists laptop/notebooks, if yours listed it might be of use

matilda, many machines can boot from CD. During start up check, if poss, the dialogue that scrolls up the screen (usually quite quickly) for a line referring to an 'Function' key, usually F7 - F11.

When pressed during start up, your machine will enter a boot menu, listing all available options, from which you select where to boot from.

If your CD drive is featured in that list, select the option and away you go.
