Hello All,

I hope that someone here can give me some useful help and advice on this. Briefly, what I want to do is install a humidity control + heat recovery control exhaust system for my cellar. The thing I have in mind is something like this - http://www.i-sells.co.uk/kair-heat-recovery-extractor-fan-12vac-selv-humidistat.

In order to install this I will have to punch out a ca 120 mm dia hole in my cellar wall. I have a low energy house and the cellar is made from prefabricated concrete. The best location for the Kair unit would be the wall which already has the inlet/outlet for the air recirculation system for the house - the two ports being ca 1.4 m apart.

I can hire the equipment locally and can get a good mason to help me with the job. My questions

a. Is this doable without damaging the fabric of the building
b. Am I liable to cause any disruption to the air recirculation system for the house itself if I place the Kair unit between the two ports for the house air recirculation system.

I'd much appreciate any help.
