BORIS JOHNSON RESIGNED

We'll see the usual Tory leader elections again. Buried in the ones that put themselves down for the position will be the one they want to win. There will be some sort of mismatch in the final 2. They do it with tactical voting and as they have to ditch mobile phones when they vote so they buy another one. That way they can let each other know how they voted. ;) Photo probably preferred in case some one cheats.

So it comes down to the biggest hidden faction that wants some particular person. They wont want the other person in the final 2 to win but will want him to get there.

C4 is a mine of useful info at times.
You'd have to be brave or foolish - or a brave fool - to want the job right now: the economy in the tank, prices rising. Stuff that. Better to wait for warmer times.

Once a "caretaker" gets a foot through the door it will be difficult to shift her.

Perhaps everyone will stop moaning now. Who's going to replace him? Who's going to be the first on here to give the new boy a silly name in the vein of Borisconi, Ree Smog, Priti Awful etc etc?
I thought of him as Boris de Piffle

Festive tries hard to introduce derogatory nicknames.

They do think that with the "right" leader they can get elected again. Part of this is down to the margin they achieved in the last one and usual time for another party to catch up. Labour has been seen as a lib lab pact when the next one is due and probably longer to get their own majority.

The current problems are like covid really. What do people think about that - it wouldn't matter who was in power. They made a wonderful effort to cope with a tough situation - I mean they keep telling us they did as well. ;) So must be correct.

An AlJ pundit made an interesting comment. He feels the UK needs a leader who is prepared to rethink their political beliefs and maybe radical in their approach. He mentioned 2 we have had. Thatcher and Blair. Thatcher caused ructions in the economy as far as a lot of ordinary people were concerned. Oil money and revenue from privatisation didn't achieve much. Many feel it went on unemployment etc. Propping stuff up.

Low taxation levels have similar problems to low base rates - rather tricky to get out of the trap. This lot have finally increased tax take. If people want these things they have to be paid for. Who dares to reorganise the tax take - get votes if it looked like there would be an increase?

LOL Maybe Starmer should offer himself to the Tories

The Germans did something interesting with fuel prices. Card that allow use of any public transport at pretty decent rate. Given our mishmash of ownership I am not sure it could be even organised. Direct quick action rather than loads of words.

The Tory have been gearing up for a snap election. If Boris calls for one the the Queen should say no. If the new leader calls for one...................................................

All muttering Boris can't be allowed to continue as caretaker until the Autumn. Talk, talk and no actions so far.

Who ever gets it must make it clear they can't do anything about current world problems etc. Sunak did that.

Boris expected to speak in ~15min. Truss was going to but seems that option is off. Probably I well if he doesn't.

The lecturn is out - will he cry. Seems he is still making appointments and has been all morning.

Blimey what a sad day :ROFLMAO:

What a loss to the country
What a loss to the world
I:ROFLMAO:

Good effing riddance...

But of course the corrupt narcissistic sociopath still wants to cling on for a few more months...

Which will hasten the total collapse of the UK economy...

But he won't give a toss when he embarks on his very lucrative 'how I destroyed a country' lecture tour...

Where is a grassy knoll when it is most needed!

Kennedy was not that bad IMO

He made sure he blamed the Tory herd instinct for his demise.

I've always thought he would be a scapegoat for things going wrong. Not turned out that way but he has served his purpose. Brexit, good majority so given his problem factors can go. Cummins helped too and has been ejected pointing out Boirs isn't the right bloke for the job on the way out. Boris in my view has mostly been a talking head.

Boris traditionally has been seen as too left to be a good Tory. That is one of the reason I thought he wouldn't last.

I also think a good way of getting levelling up funds is to vote Tory. Threats in that area have also been used to bend MP's. I feel this is bending politics too much.

That settles it ... Nadine Dorries it is.

I'm actually quite optimistic.

I don't think any PM can be as awful as Joris.

I even went so far as to say a short while back, I'd rather have Thatcher!

Edit: Actually, include most of the cabinet in that awfulness....

Edit encore: Actually, I think you could get worse than Joris - Braverman....
