Looking to replace my very old bosch gbh24vfr.
This has always a superb drill but its reaching the end of its life
Now what to replace with?
Most of my tools are dewalt but need recommendations without the sales pitch shops give.
Needs to be able to put 20-25mm holes through concrete, mainly 6mm though with good stamina and lighter than the the old bosch

I`d always start with a smaller bit, If going up to 25 i`ve always gone 16, 20 then 25.
Are the current drills on market as robust as my oldschool gbh

I would say not as I still use some 24v stuff and must have had it 10yrs, But it may be just because the new stuff is lighter I think it won't last 10yrs only time will tell I guess.

I like the idea of a lighter weight drill but hear stories that the lith ion batts don`t last as long ie 10+years and cost even more than the old 24v jobs.
Don`t want to jump into a new expensive drill without complete confidence it`ll do the job.

Dewalt 254 sds looks a nice piece of kit and been offered quite a good deal. According to spec has the same impact strength as the old bosch

How much is a good deal? I have had a look on you tube looks a good drill.
