Bosch Dishwasher salt problem

My Bosch SMS 603 has not had a salt refill for over 6 months.
I took the side panel off and disconnected the pipes to the salt regulator but there is no flow through the pipes at all.
Can anyone help?

Make sure you've actually got the machine set up to need a regen - if regen control is set to soft water then it won't regen .
