BOSCH DISHWASHER SGS66E02GB WATER IN THE BASE

Hi I have Bosch Dishwasher EXXCEL when i went to empty the DW in the morning there was a very slight burning smell, and what sounded like a pump still running, and the timer had stopped with 53 minutes left on the cycle. After a couple of days i decided to have a go at repairing it my self. I have the sides off the DW and run i run it on a PRE RINCE CYCLE with no problems, (DID EVER THING IT SHOULD) but it has water in the plastic base from the previous stoppage, and there was a small droplet of water on a white/red wire under the salt container. I think that the water leak caused the DW to cut out with the flood float. Being that it took me two weeks to attempt the repair most of the water had dried up, so thats how i got the DW started again. My question is: under the salt container is there a part that is prone to leaks, or is there a part in that area that is prone to leaking. Please help as this washing up is playing havoc with my cuticals.

Check that the big nut inside appliance where you fill the salt container is tight as they can leak from there,

Hi Thanks for the reply the big nut was very lose, and i think that will stop the leak. But now it fills up the matrix but won,t go any further, it will not move on through the programme. I have tried to reset the DW by pressing the 3rd from last and the last together but it will not reset the DW. I can press any programme button and it will light up the selected wash but it will not continue on. There is not water going into the inside wash area. Anymore help would be appreitiated.

To reset appliance you press two buttons together usually 65 and 45 for 3 secs. see if that workd it should pump out for a minute. Then switch off then back on.

Hi I have tried pressing 40 and prewash together as it says in my book but still nothing happens. I have 70, 55-65,50,40,35, and prerinse.

Hi Still not resetting. The matrix is still full and there is a pump running.

press 65 and 40 this will reset

Hi I just pressed 65/40, then pressed the on button C5 came up. Released them and PO came up. Any ideas please.

switch it off as you have entered the test prog. Start again and it should pump out and then start progHave you checked the base is not flooded?

Hi I have just removed the water form the base and the DW is now running on 70 degree wash 2-14 minutes. Yesterday i did tighten the large nut on the salt container. Should these be hand tight, or can nip it up just slightly with a wooden spanner.

Hi, I am no longer getting water in the base. That was the problem, it was tripping the flood sensor. I have done a 70 & 50 Degree wash with no trouble. I cannot thank you enough for taking the time to reply, just a simple thing like a loose nut could have cost a fortune.
