I have had a Bosch Classix 7 tumble dryer for the past 10 months and despite at least three calls to the manufacturer regarding my dissatisfaction I have yet to b a satisfied customer. My problem is that it just keeps stopping when in operational mode and unless it's a handful of very flimsy something or other - nothing dries in a reasonable amount of time. Very often 'nothing dries'. If I want to dry a couple of towels, for example, it will take a very long while as it stops within a short time of the programme being started. I am forever walking in and out of the room where it lives to find the red light flashing to indicate that fluff needs clearing even when there's hardly any collected. If I try to dry a duvet cover the item starts off carefully distributed throughout the drum and a very short time afterwards the machine stops and the duvet cover is now in a tight ball with a few bits dry and the rest bundled up and still wet/damp. Each time I've called the company I'm given a different reason why this might be happening - none of which have proved accurate. I am also always made aware, that if a technician comes out and cannot find a fault, as such, I will have to pay. Being retired I am reluctant to put myself in this position. The starter button (which it isn't) is also a pain, as it's a tiny light sensitive thing that one has to stroke gently. What ever happened to a button you pushed or a dial you twisted that would start the machine instantly. Rubbish product just wish I had not chosen it.

So exactly what is your question?
If you have read & followed the instructions in your user manual carefully (but are still convinced the dryer doesn't function correctly) then your only alternative is to request a service call. If you go digging around in there yourself your warranty effectively goes out the window. Being reluctant to get service out sounds like you are not even convinced there is a fault. Of course they will bill you if no fault is found...nobody works for free.

The problems are outlined in the initial post. Washing does not dry because machine keeps stopping. I clear fluff - machine starts - shortly afterwards, machine stops. The first response when I called the company was to refer to the manual which tells me to 'check fluff build-up', already do that (common sense, really). The second time I was told to check outlet. Did that: it was fine. The third time I called I was told that I should only dry full loads of wet/damp washing as machine will stop drying according to weight of washing inside. Tried drying with drum filled with assortment of fabrics - it still kept stopping. Nothing refers to this possible problem in the manual.

Am still confused and frustrated.

Post the full "E-number" on the door sticker so we can see exactly which model you have.
The E-number has a mixture of letters & numbers something similar to this: WTA2000GB/05.

This is a vented dryer, have you checked the exhaust hose isn't constricted or blocked altogether?
Can you tell us a little about the exhaust set-up? Where does it vent to? how long is the run & are there many bends? is the exit fitted with a back-draft flap, etc?
Many questions I know....but venting issues are a common cause of the problem you describe.

Will come back to you tomorrow with the above info. as I need my son to help me pull machine out.

Many thanks.

I have now checked behind machine and established that there are two bends in the outlet hose. Checked-out vent and found this to be 80% blocked (caked) in fluff. Have now hoovered in outlet and cleared and cleaned the vent thoroughly.

Have yet to experiment with double sized duvet cover, but have successfully dried two towels in one load and then an adult towelling dressing gown, and it does now appear to be performing well.

Hopefully this will continue to be the case.

Thank you very much for your help.
