6 year old WFF1201, tripped the RCD today. With the back off there seems to be a fair amount of carbon around the motor and I can't get any life out of the motor, the programme clicks around and I can hear clicks a the times I would normally expect the motor to kick in but nothing happens.
Given the age (and carbon) I wouldn't be suprised if it was brushes, however I got through 2 sets on our old hotpoint (in 13 years) and if you tentatively helped the motor it would burst into life (with much arcing from the commutator). This one is just DEAD. Any ideas?
Also the machine has beeb sluging up recent so I suspected it wasn't getting hot and the element was gone. Sure enough now I have it out the element is open circuit. May cut my losses and go for a new machine.
