Bosch washing machine strays stuck on one cycle

My Bosch Maxx Classic, 1200, (2007) will not go beyond the chosen wash programme. It continues on the wash cycle even though the clock has gone to zero. I have to pause the programme, select rinse and start again to finish the washing.
Can anybody help?
