This is an intermittent problem. Sometimes the machine just won't start - I've tried holding the button in for a long time, pressing the door with my knee and all sorts. Eventually it will start and after that it works fine, but there's no way to predict how long it's going to play silly beggars. I recently replaced the door deal, but it was playing up before that.
Any suggestions? The machine is about 10 years old but I really don't want to get rid of it unless I have to.

Thanks
Scott

Have you had the motor brushes changed at all as they could be worn and causing problems (they usually last about 5 years normal use).

Yes - had that done a couple of years ago. Once I've got the machine to start, it's fine. Could it be something do to with the door close sensor?

It could be a worn or loose pecker on the door or more commonly a worn door interlock or loose wire on it.

Thanks - I take it it's worth getting inside the machine and seeing if anything's loose in the door lock area then. Is there anything in particular to look out for?
